Advanced speaking club
Who is it aimed at?
- The ones who have reached B2 and above and don’t want to lose what they’ve achieved with so much effort made and so much precious time spent
- The ones who don’t feel like doing a classic course again, with all that grammar, homework, listen-and-repeat sort of routine but still want to refresh their knowledge
- The ones who feel they’re not fluent enough, not fast enough, not versatile enough
- The ones who have outstanding receptive skills but cannot put their passive knowledge into practice
- The ones who believe in communication as a learning tool
- The ones who just love a well-organized chit-chat with like-minded people
What’s it going to be like?
- There will be 4-6 of you, no more, unless we all agree to add more people
- I will send you some thoroughly chosen preparatory materials so that you can implement some relevant C1 vocabulary in your speech during our meetings, but these materials won’t be a must. The English you’ve got at your level is already an excellent material to elaborate on
- All my courses, and especially such courses, are tailor-made. By this I mean that each meeting will be designed for the ones who’ve signed up for it. The topic, the choice of materials, the style of discussion – this is what I’ll choose bearing each of my students in mind as individuals and as a group
- Everyone will have a chance to speak out: mostly it will be pairwork and groupwork in two breakout rooms, which I can monitor simultaneously, combined with whole group activities. You will receive group feedback in the end and a personal feedback if necessary in private after the class
- The topics may vary immensely: traditional ones, such as memories or travelling, will be explored from less predictable angles. There may be less obvious things like pet peeves or something you haven’t even considered a worthwhile topic for discussion, be it trees, tattoos or zombie apocalypse.
Who am I?
-I’m a CELTA and DELTA (M1 for now) trained teacher of English as a foreign language with approved C2 (CAE and CPE grade A)
- I started teaching English 11 years ago and I’ve never stopped loving it ever since: I’m keen, enthusiastic, friendly, broadminded and quite a laugh. And modest of course.
- I prepare for my lessons but at the same time I’m flexible enough to adjust to the situation in class and make good use of the emergent language
- I just love a good chat, be it on contemporary art or on how to change a diaper
How do I sign up?
Just text me and we’ll arrange a little interview to get to know each other and if everything suits you, feel free to join. Here’s my phone number if you prefer messengers to social networks: 89992037120
How do I pay?
I’ll give you my Sber card number. I’m self-employed, so I pay taxes and everything, give receipts if necessary. I’d rather you paid in advance, before the lesson begins, otherwise we both might forget
Do I have to attend every time?
Of course not! Whenever you like. It’s a speaking club, not a course, so it’s more like chilling out in a thermal pool rather than an intensive swimming training, but you will truly benefit from regular meetings.
When?
Tuesdays, 11.00
How much is the fish?
800rub/person
Is there a late cancellation policy?
Yes, sorry. Once you’ve signed up for the upcoming meeting, I expect you to pay within 24 hours before it begins. Should you change your mind in less than 24 hours, I still expect you to pay.
